Michael Mattos has been with Affordable Housing and Services Collaborative, Inc. (AHSC) since 2013. Michael is a dedicated affordable housing professional that has a wide range of experiences in development, financing, grant writing, administration and management within private, public and non-profit organizations.
Prior to joining AHSC, Michael served as the Director of Real Estate Development for the Taunton Housing Authority (THA) and managed all aspects of THA’s $22 million HOPE VI revitalization project. Michael’s previous affordable housing experience includes working as an Associate Development Director for Peabody Properties, Inc. and EA Fish Development where he assisted in the development of over nine developments, as well as serving as the City of Taunton’s Community Development Director where he managed the city’s HUD funded programs including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME).
Additionally, Michael has previously worked for the state’s economic and housing development agency, Mass Development as Vice President of Community Development for the Southeast region where he coordinated and managed the agency’s portfolio of Brownfield Assessment and Remediation Fund clients, as well as Predevelopment funding Program clients for the communities within Bristol, Plymouth and Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket Counties.
Mr. Mattos holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Bridgewater State University and a Master’s Degree in Regional Planning (MRP) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. As a native of the City of Taunton, he is actively engaged in the community as the Vice President of the Downtown Taunton Foundation and as Treasurer of The Neighborhood Corporation, two local non-profit organizations dedicated to community revitalization.
